Mental Health First Aid

Be ready to notice. Know how to respond.

A smiling pharmacist with glasses and a stethoscope holds up a blister pack.

NPHLA hosts Mental Health First Aid training to help participants respond more confidently when someone may be experiencing a mental health or substance-use challenge.

Delivered by a currently certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor, the course teaches participants how to recognize possible signs of a challenge, offer initial support, and encourage connection with appropriate professional or community resources.

Important

Mental Health First Aid is an early-intervention education program. It does not prepare participants to diagnose or provide therapy, and it is not a substitute for professional or emergency care.

If someone is in immediate danger, call 911. For a mental health crisis in the United States, call or text 988.
