Member FAQ

Answers to the questions we hear most. Still unsure? Our team is happy to help.

Who can apply to NPHLA?

Membership is open to pharmacists in every practice setting, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy students and residents, pharmacy owners and teams, long-term care and health organizations, healthcare professionals who work alongside pharmacy, educators and healthcare leaders. Choose the category closest to your role — or tell us you are unsure and we will recommend one.

How does the application review work?

You complete a five-step application and receive a reference number by email. NPHLA staff review each application individually against our published Membership Standards. If anything needs clarifying we will ask, and you reply through the private link in your confirmation email. You will be notified of the decision by email.

Do I need to upload documents or pay to apply?

No. We do not ask for identity documents, and no payment is taken when you apply. Where you hold a license, we ask for the license type and jurisdiction; you may optionally provide your NPI, which is a public identifier.

What does Founding Member recognition mean?

Members approved during NPHLA’s inaugural membership campaign receive Founding Member recognition. The designation celebrates the professionals and organizations helping build the Alliance from the beginning.

What is the NPHLA Member mark?

Approved members can use the NPHLA Member mark on their website, email signature or professional profiles, linked to a public verification page that shows only the details they choose. The mark signifies current NPHLA membership. It is not a license, certification or accreditation.

How long does a membership last?

Memberships are annual. Your membership end date appears in your member account, and NPHLA will contact you about renewal before it ends.

Can our pharmacy add more locations or people?

Yes. Pharmacy Team Membership covers up to 5 named team members and one verified pharmacy profile; additional pharmacy locations are $149 per year each. Long-Term Care & Organization Membership covers up to 10 named professionals; additional seats are $59 per year each.

How does Industry Partner membership work?

Industry Partner membership is starting at $2,500/year and includes up to 3 named representatives. Request the partner prospectus and our team will follow up. Partnership does not constitute NPHLA endorsement of a company, product, service, or clinical claim.

Are membership dues the same as donations or event fees?

No. Membership dues, event registration, sponsorships, and donations are separate unless expressly stated.

Do members get voting rights?

Pharmacist membership includes committee and voting eligibility where permitted by NPHLA bylaws. Benefits, eligibility, voting privileges, renewal terms, and refund policies are subject to NPHLA’s approved bylaws and membership policies.

Does NPHLA membership provide continuing education credit?

Not at this time. NPHLA offers professional development and knowledge resources, but it is not an accredited provider of continuing pharmacy education, and membership does not confer a license, certification or credential.

Are dues tax-deductible?

NPHLA has not yet published guidance on the tax treatment of membership dues. Please consult your tax advisor.
