How is this tracker compiled?
The Intelligence pipeline queries the ClinicalTrials.gov API (version 2) on the schedule set in the Source Registry: one broad search for obesity and incretin therapies (GLP-1, semaglutide, tirzepatide, retatrutide, orforglipron, amylin, cagrilintide, survodutide) and a separate search for each metabolic topic that has a trial query, such as retatrutide or orforglipron. Each study is stored with its registry fields exactly as published: title, phase, overall status, sponsor, conditions, interventions and the date of its last registry update.
When a study’s overall status changes, or results are first posted, the change is recorded with the date the pipeline detected it. This tracker lists studies on the Metabolic desk whose registered phase includes phase 2 or phase 3 (combined phase 2/3 studies included). Nothing in the table is edited by hand.
Selection: ClinicalTrials.gov studies followed by Trial Watch in phase 2 and phase 3 on the metabolic desk.
What does it cover?
Studies listed on ClinicalTrials.gov — from the United States and other countries — that match the search terms above, from the date tracking of each search began. Phase 2 and phase 3 only. Phase 1 and phase 4 studies, studies described with other terms and studies registered only in other registries are not included.
What are its limitations?
Registry records are maintained by trial sponsors and can lag events; the status shown is the sponsor’s registry status at the last check, not an assessment of the trial. Searches can include studies of these medicines for conditions other than obesity and can miss studies that use different terms. Every therapy in a trial is investigational for the use being studied. Not medical advice.
How often is it updated?
Registry searches run every 6 to 12 hours, as configured in the Source Registry; the table reflects each completed check.
System checked is the last time an automated check of the underlying official sources succeeded — it is not a human review. Editorially reviewed appears only when an editor has reviewed this tracker. Each row shows its own check: an automated system check or an editor’s verification.
Data origin: NPHLA analysis of public data. Professional reference only — not medical, legal or regulatory advice. Always confirm a record in its primary source. Spotted an error? Tell us.
